Getting ready for one of my FAVORITE events all year – the Winter
Solstice concert at the
href="http://worldfinancialcenter.com/ae/default_new.asp?page=4&id=27).
">World Financial Center in NYC.

The space is
gorgeous. The crowds hang around and help you build the mood -
they’re willing it
to be so special. My 9-yr.-old daughter Fiona and
a handful of her friends from PS 75 will join us
again this year,
assisting the ILLUSIONIST!! I am awed to even be saying it. And I
am wringing
out my 5 minutes of music as fast as I can – thank
goodness we learn our stuff easily! There are,
what? Eight premieres
on this program???

I stand quietly for an instant, looking forward and back, allowing
an impression of where we are to
settle in me. It fills me with
joy. We are doing what we love, and our projects look like our
dreams.
And it still feels audacious, somehow. And completely
integral.
